Carl Diehl "Patrolling the Ether" (2009)

documents the work and interests of those fascinated by EVP or Electronic Voice Phenomena. These groups dedicate much of their lives to the detection of voices or images within what has become a rather electric atmosphere. (7 min.)


Andrew Klaus "Origin: Oceania" (2010)
addresses the nature of creation itself and the evolution of life from the sea citing varied sources including the Torah, Herodotus, Charles Darwin and Inuit mythology; both the modern conditions of technological evolution and the basic biological-geological evolution of the world and how they link our understanding of human origins." Jesse Malmed "I am hiding a poem" (2009)

Anthony Schilling "The Picture Dance" (2009)
Pure analog. This short film consists of many many 35mm film still photographs captured frame by frame with a 16mm movie camera, mixed with the animated subjects captured with just the movie camera. This experiment was designed to portray a journey of random people and places through the portals of photography. (2.5 min.)


Jennifer Hardacker "The Night Gardener" (2008)

Cat Tyc "Umbrella" (2008)

The Lady has plenty to deal with: an unexpected pregnancy, a string of appointments, parties to attend & people to see. But now, to top it all off, she is being followed around by a man around town who keeps hitting her over the head with an umbrella.  (12 min)


Kevin Forrest "Endommage" (2010)
A girl wanders the city streets in a haze and emotional state. The city around her is awash in electric colors and confusing sounds. What has happened to this attractive young lady? Has she come from a party? Is she lost? The truth is displayed in a glimpse into her world on an unexpected encounter with a seemingly 'normal' looking gentleman. (6 min.) 

Cassie Cohn "Ghost Shift" (2010)

A collaboration between Portland-based composer/musician Amy Hanson and video portrait artist Cassie Cohn, is an exploration of the bicycle in sound and motion. The project started two years ago when Amy approached Cassie about doing the visuals for a musical composition composed entirely of noise created with bike sounds and was made with support of the Northwest Film Center and a grant from Portland State University. This screening will be the premiere of the film in its finalized version." (5 min.)

Brian Libby "Crossings" (2009)

A montage drawn from numerous crossings of the Fremont Bridge in Portland, with music by Beauty Pill. (5 min)

Paul Neff "Homeless in Portland" (2009)
An interview with a Street Roots newspapaper vendor about her dream of one day owning a home.
Street Roots is a nonprofit, grassroots newspaper that assists people experiencing homelessness and poverty by creating flexible income opportunities. Through education, advocacy and personal expression, we are a catalyst for individual and social change.

Gabe Van Lelyveld "Bars and Tone" (2009)
A short experimental film constructed entirely from a single image and sound frequency; the color bars and tone commonly used to calibrate monitors and speakers. (3 min.)

Dustin Zemel "More Please" (2009)

This video takes about 30 seconds of a Nancy Grace footage and stretches it to over six minutes. The first two minutes contain a stretched out bumper that normally lasts 10 seconds or so. I do this to emphasize both the intricate compositing television graphics artists achieve in addition to the textual emptiness and redundancy of the content.
The middle of the piece is the arbitrary, almost meaningless b-roll footage television news shows include for credibility purposes. (6 min.)

Lori-D "Listen" W/ Music by Paco (2009)

The song, and the animation, are a perfect reminder of how important it is - and how much fun it can be - to stop and listen to the things all around us. (1.5 min)

Liz Lewis "Bobby Beats" (2009)
A glitched out sonic mantra extricated out of the mouths of babes.

Vanessa Renwick "Little White Horse" music video for Quasi

This video was made while I was enjoying a residency at Caldera in March of 2010
At Sam Coomes' request, I re-cut the "Red Stallion's Revenge" footage to Quasi's song " Little White Horse". That Sam Coomes had a good idea! Sam also did the mind blowing score for Portrait #2: Trojan. (4.5 min.)
